Question :

Bj I?m your new user n having a great experience with your delicious recipes, please tell me what vegetable fat is and where can I find or buy it. Thanks, Regards, Amber.

Answer :

Hi, Many thanks for being with us. We hope that we are up to your expectations. Hydrogenated vegetable oils are called vegetable fat such as margarine and vegetable shortening. Vegetable oils are normally in liquid state at room temperature, with the exception of tropical oils such as coconut oil and palm oil, which are semi solid at room temperature. Vegetable oils are chemically transformed from their normal liquid state into solids. This process is called hydrogenation. During the hydrogenation procedure extra hydrogen atoms are added into vegetable oil, converting the liquid oil into solid fat. Margarine and vegetable shortening are available almost at every supermarket. Regards, Bj.
