Avoid those that are limp, shriveled or have bruised spots. To store peppers, put them in a plastic bag and refrigerate. Peppers will stay fresh up to a week. Bell peppers are used raw in salads. In cooking, they are used in a variety of dishes. Bell peppers can be cooked with minced meat, baked, grilled and steamed. Bell peppers are an excellent source of vitamin C and vitamin A. ".
